I should be sensible and keep out of this... but...
I have been a member of various forums (fora? fori?) for computers, cars and other stuff - plus chat rooms, on line game rooms, etc etc - and every time, without fail, it degenerates into cries of "elitism" etc.
There will inevitably be long-term members who know each other better, and are more familiar with each other. I've been there and done that. There will be members who only post occasionally. Done that too. Some will take it too seriously. Some will be too flippant. Nobody can please everybody all the time. Nobody.
I am fairly new here, but I for one don't see any more elitism than anywhere else. Anyway, you can break into it if you want to. I've done it before. You can stay out of it if you aren't bothered. It's up to you, but please - don't moan because others have taken the time to get to know each other...

BB - v.sorry wasn't trying to stir a hornets nest (I think you know this but want it to be crystal!!) in hiend (splln??) sight maybe should not have started this thread. Was never trying to rant at all the chaps looking after this site or Ted for allowing me to play in his yard i.e. this site.
You guys do not have it easy, the fact that you do if for the love of it is great. All the best and will try to support rather than condem all managing things around here
