I have 6inch panasonic subs in the back of my Griff (with spacers as the magnets are quite big)they run with two channels bridged to mono from a large Alpine amp the fronts (Alpine components) run from the two remaining channels, with the head unit taking care of the filtering at the pre amp stage, sounds great with the roof on up to about 90mph then the road/wind noise
become more and more intrusive, with the roof off who cares just listen to the exhaust!

You may still be able to hear it, but can listen to it, at 120 open alot of other sounds compete and alot of sound is simply lost in the air,I use a Micromega/Naim/Linn set up at home but I wouldn't listen to it if the wife was hoovering in the same room.

Oh dear. The Max Power chaps have discovered TVR's!

Is nothing sacred?

I can wait to see a Griff with a Escort Cosworth rear spoiler.

Oiy Dominic..NAHHHHH (in loud Harry Enfield effect!)

Laxpower is all about show with nowt inside - a decent sound system is all about what's inside - don't give a monkeys what it looks like! And with a 26 hour drive coming up there's nothing like a bit of HedKandi to keep you going

These days I find I keep turning the music down to listen to the engine. Am I getting old or trying to re-live my youth?

Trust me, given the proximity of the speakers to my lug-oles, and the volume my set-up is capable of, I can hear it just fine. Wind noise starts to get intrusive 120mph+ but up until then the sound is quality.

Get yourself down to HMV my man... Hedkandi do all sorts of mixes to while away the miles... house/trance/disco/chilled/deeper chilled you name it.... though no Simon and Garfunkle as far as I know, but someone'll probably tell me about a remix somewhere!

Sugest the MP3 players - 7 CD's on one disk and much cheaper than the MD.

In my Tuscan theres a 12" Cervin Vega sub in the boot, 6" Cerwin Vega components in the front and a 4 X 150w rms amp running the show...

I am however finding it difficult to fit the neon under the car, any tips???

Right had the install done today, went for the Kenwood MD, 6x9 Rockford Fosgate rears with the small Kenwood amp driving them with reduced gain so not to outshine the fronts, mounted inbetween the rear cones behind the carpet in the boot, moved one of the vents between the 6x9s for airflow but my mate who helped me with the install thinks I should get a really good single slot CD and ditch the MD as they don't perform half as well as CD in a car environment, fro his experience MD is great at home etc. but in a car sounds compressed, any feedback?

Get a CD headunit , I think MD has had its day of fame and is dying , recordable CD's has killed MD .
The next step is going to be DVD Audio .

I like MD because I can store them so easily, not running long play at the mo, just copied down The Coral and Electric Six's new albums on one disc still got much more room in the fag packet for lots of albums!

I had actually been contemplating fitting a Sonic Blue eMpeg head unit when I get a Chim(p) - up to 160Gb of HD space for MP3's and built in ethernet so I could back the baby into the garage, plug in the Optimate and a network cable and then update my "on the move" music from anywhere in the house!

Only problem is it's a fully "pull out" unit rather than a "face off" unit and I'd be worried about damaging the veneer on the dash...
