Europes largest Sports Car meeting. The cars on show have a combined power of more than 50,000 BHP and are worth over 15 million Euro in total value

This is the proposed event where we might try an Austrian TVR meet up - - Saturday 30th. It's the Sportswagen festival, Friday 29th August to Sunday 31st, and advertised as Europes largest Sports Car meeting. It takes place in the smart lakeside town of Velden by lake Worthersee, Kärnten, (Corinthia) Austria.

I attended the parade last year at it was a mega mega pose. I was the only TVR and I felt like I was 'all fur coat and no knickers' with these guys. You can see me at about 40s into this clip:

There are lots more YouTube clips by same guy if you want to see all the cars in the parade,,, there were a lot of very expensive and rare sports cars!!

After the parade the cars parked up in the town centre, which is cordened off for the event. The public then got a chance to take a closer look at the cars for about half an hour before we drove off again.

Update

I spoke to the organiser and he was happy to allow the TVR's on the parade and some of the other meetings for free. I just need to let him know how many TVR's he can expect. He also agreed we could form a small convey on the main parade if we wanted to.

Unfortunately for us English only speakers the program is in German. Maybe someone could translate it but he told me the following:

1. Friday 29th August.... cars will meet up at the highest lake, 2000m, in Austria with option of dinner (dinner is of course not free)
2. Saturday Main parade... 5pm. Meet in front of the Sonnen Hotel Velden. TVR's welcome , no cost
3. Sunday.... 10am Classic sports cars to meet in front of Velden castle,(Casino?)with prize for best..,. older TVR's welcome. no cost

If your interested in staying in the Hotel, dinners, dance, casino etc then for booking contact.

TVR owners please post here if your interested and what days you might attend. Saturday 30th would be good day to make it a TVR meet, before the main parade Afterwards we could then join the parade as a group.

Any non-Austrian TVR owners reading this are also welcome to attend.

I would like to join all three days, but I am afraid that this date is colliding with a marriage in my family I cannot miss out.

Is anyone in Austria interested in joining the event? It would be cool if there where a few TVR's there

Some of the event activities we could do for free eg Meet at Austria's highest lake, main parade, concours for the old timers.

Some of the other activities, dinner, dance, hotel are of course not free but its up to you which bits you fancy taking part in.

22.30 Presentation of the PS-Exclusive booklet from Ciro de Luca

Sunday
10.00-12.00 Concours of the classical sports cars (up to 1980) at the Seecorso i n formt fo the Velden castle.

All participants who have not prealoof at the Veldener tourism society yet,
can book on account of many already being reservations only the package II, without overnight stay at the organizer's hotel:

Just got an email from Steve aka C15 on the German TVR forum. Looks like he will be coming in his Tuscan from Stuttgart... wife permitting! If all attend then there will be a decent showing of TVR's at this event.
