Lol no I mean as in I want the car. Infact, I want two. I want W112BHG with the full mother spec V12, and then one with the road car bodywork, with perhaps a detuned variant, or perhaps that 7.3 litre V12 from the Aston One-77.....it does sound rather good from what I've heard of it!

Now THAT is the duckpond, the White GTS Speed 12 (that had an engine), and the purple motorshow car, that never moved under its own steam (now could it have had an engine and running gear in it? That's the question!).

ETA The picture of the running 'carbon car' looks awfully like a photoshop image to me. Do you have more of that car as that's the only picture I've ever seen of it supposedly running?
I wondered that, as its the only pic I've seen of the car with that body style running.. I appreciate that its easy to swap the rest of the body work as has happened, but surely the central tub is the main component of the car, and I'd have thought its the Tubs's that we should be referring to when we discuss the cars as thats the one constant..

Is the black car the same tub, just with different door. flicking through the pictures, it looks like its just the doors that are different. the other pics seem to show that car with engine and wiring etc so that it could run. maybe it only tested with the early doors and then the doors were changed.. maybe a question for Steve.
Indeed that picture is a fake, sort of. The car was pushed along by a few guys, with a driver, and pics taken. It was then photoshopped. HOWEVER, that carbon car DID get an engine later on, and did do some testing at Oulton Park. The recessed doors were later removed and the car became the blue Scania racer (according to Steve Rouse). Hope this helps!

The Speed 12 motorshow car? That looks like carbon fibre rocker covers and trumpets to me.

What have carbon fibre rocker covers and trumpets got to do with brakes? confused

Nah I wasn't on aboot the brakes, I was responding to Dermot's response to my question about which car (cerb speed 12 or Speed 12 motorshow car) it was that was shown with the carbon bits on the engine (which he replied with "speed 12.").

Hi guys. Just read through this whole thread over the past two days thinking it was loooong dead until I finished it this morning.

The reason that I found the is thread in the first place was doing some research after finding out that the seemingly ONLY running car, besides that pace car in Japan... lol, IS FOR SALE.

Here is a link, http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-pa...

As far as I can tell, this is legit. If it isn't, try not to kill me. I found this on a autoblog called Jalopnik.com, btw.

Not exactly news. The car has been advertised for a few years now with the price increasing everytime someone asks. (The owner doesn't REALLY want to sell it unless he gets a silly offer imo) It's currently sitting in 'The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu with a damaged engine.
