This morning Im thinking will we see the new speed 12 this summer?
An exciting thought!
Unfortunately that is very unlikely. Still far too much work to do. Feb edition of Sprint might have a few details included. Car is being rebuilt with a few tweaks here and there!!! There is a possibility that a rolling chassis might be ready to show at the BNG. Can't guarantee it though... For example if the engine is still being built then I'll probably not put anything on show.

Oh go onnnnnnn, just a few bits? I was hoping to see it at BNG. Infact, if W112BHG makes it, it'd be a Cerbera Speed 12-fest, and I think I might die of excitement.

Hi everyone, I would just like to add a little something to this thread in that, there are two 7.7 litre cerberra road cars, yes two seperate ones, as proved by the following information from the DVLA website

The vehicle details for W312 BFV are:

Date of Liability 01 12 2007
Date of First Registration 10 03 2000
Year of Manufacture 2000
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 7730CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour SILVER
Vehicle Type Approval
This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £112.75
12 Months Rate £205.00

The vehicle details for W112 BHG are:

Date of Liability 01 04 2010
Date of First Registration 20 06 2000
Year of Manufacture 2000
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 7730CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £112.75
12 Months Rate £205.00

as you can see the dates of first reg are different on both cars, and the dates of liability are different, with both the dates of liability being after the registration dates or both vehicles, therefore proving that there are infact two seperate cars and not just the same car with a different plate. Also details of the other reg number mention in here W312BHG are not available from DVLA, which would indeed suggest that, that car is the same as one of the above.

That proves nothing I'm afraid, regardless of the fact that they are both reporting liability, the entry on the DVLA page is meaningless. W112 BHG exists and is sitting in Bristol Avenue as we speak and is built around the tub of the car that was registered W312 BVG.

End of, no discussion we know where ALL the tubs fabricated are so there are NO missing cars.

To prove my point, below are the details of a former car of mine that I know was scrapped yet it is still listed on the DVLA site
thus illustrating the fact that W312 BVG is still listed proves nothing.

The vehicle details for E515 HHG are:

Date of Liability 01 12 1999
Date of First Registration 09 01 1988
Year of Manufacture 1988
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1905CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREY
Vehicle Type Approval

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle

Thanks for clearing that up V8 GRF, but doesn't the information on the DVLA website at least prove that at an earlier sale of the only remaining Cerberra Speed 12 there was infact another Cerberra speed 12 on the road given that the date of liability on the other is sometime in 2007?

p.s. the date of liability is that when it was last insured or something else?

I don't think the data on the DVLA site can be regarded as accurate, maybe the number was never SORN'd so they kept issuing tax reminders until the 2007 date?

I know the Orange Typhon hasn't been taxed since 2006 but the DVLA liability states 2009 so it's obviously not an accurate indication of when a vehicle was last taxed.

The 2007 liability date is when the excise licence runs/ran out

Hmmm but that number hasn't been used for a lot longer than that.

Dermot, is that the shell of the duckpond, the 2nd motorshow car, or the actual Speed 12 racer that was white then resprayed purple? The number 12 sticker would indicate the latter, but I was told that that particular bodyshell was being taken care of elsewhere.....

yikes
I thought there was two original Speed12's then first time I watche the vid, then saw the two different dates about a year apart... Looks like it had a colour change too from the 7-flip paint to Racing Purple ?? And that lovely swooping interior was binned too frown

Good job they changed the snout of the Tuscan... bloody awful that first attempt !!

Did we ever find out the proper history and whereabouts of the CS12's then?

Obviously for Speed Twelve you've got Duckpond, Motorshow, Racing car that has recently been rediscovered.

For CS12 though?

Bodywork for W112 BHG was from a racer that now doesn't exist?

Other racer bodywork being used for second one that G1ABB owns?

So no racers left? And what of the car that Yellowedge found?

Yes it's all here in this thread a few years back.

But to save you searching back

Speed 12.
Duckpond -- cut up
Black master mould also cut up
Show car in a private collection
Race car recently sold after being stored in the NW at the home of a former TVR dealer.

Speed 12 Cerbera

Parts for 5 cars fabricated.
W112 BHG we all know about, has the only running Speed 12 engine and was built from the parts collection at TVR.
2nd car under construction using a different V12 as its engine, everything else is original or re-manufactured.
The owner also owns a large collection of body panels for race/road cars, some unused, others used in various colours.
He also owns 2 additional tubs that where built up and raced.
Final tub was never assembled.

The car that yellowedge found was a GT Cerbera.

Just to make you aware W112 is back on show at the Lakeland Motor Museum having had to take a couple of months out for a refresh, including a fresh coat of paint.

Just to clarify Surface and Design, Lawfield Engineering and JGR racing have all done a great job on the car.

Hi G,

Great to see that the car is now probably the best it has ever been...fantastic and a testimony to everyone concerned, so much commitment ...well done...Amika needs a big hug for putting up with it all!

NEC this weekend ...you know how that works early start in the morning ...be good to catch up next week....long overdue...

If anyone could post up some up to date pictures of W112 at the Museum it would be very much appreciated. I didn't get time to take any pics when picked the car up and took it over. Funnily enough when I dropped it off a guy came over said "amazing, I thought TVR had stopped making new cars".. Bless...

Thanks and regards

Hi there! I’m car journalist from Ukraine and for the moment writing article about TVR Speed 12 and Cerbera Speed 12. I’ve read tons of posts about both cars here on PH in various threads but still have some doubts about key facts for this project. So, it will be really great if local experts could clearly my doubts.

1. For example I’m looking for info about first owner of the Cerbera Speed 12 road-going prototype who bought the car in 2003. What is his name? Kerry Gardner, Kerry Gardiner or Kerry Gardener? There are all these variants here on HP… Who is this man? Race driver, businessman or other?

2. Where the next photo was taken? As I believe it’s 1999 London Motorshow, right? Photo copied from here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
