Speed 12 project

Hopefully the answer to that will be NO as the "special" material is for Sprint
David, Please call me when you have a minute. I'm happy to see more details go into Sprint. Engine is currently on the dyno but not fired up yet! It cranks over and oil system is working fine. Just the water to plumb in. Funny thing is it broke the dyno today when being cranked over. Just an electrical gremlin which blew up one of the dyno water pumps... ergo history repeating itself albeit on a smaller scale.RedSpike66 said:
Drooooooooooooooooooooolll !!
What is it??
What's in it ???
Can you divulge any geeky stuff, cc, rods, crank, pistons..
Has it been fired up yet ? Dyno'd even ???
What you hoping it'll make ??
Rather jealous here, even though I've got a nice cup of tea in me hand....

Out of interest, who are Brian and Jonathon ?? Obviously very talented engine builders for you to entrust this project to them !
Lawfield Engineering (Brian) J G Racing (Jonathon).Very talented and they built for example Peter Wheelers 5000M. John Ravenscroft is also involved with the engine.

Quick question.
I assume the intention is to have the car road registered but how are you going to go about it?
Surely a racing tub won't have a VIN or paperwork.
Just curious as I have a hell of job getting normal cars IVA tested so wouldn't like to attempt it with this.
Or has it got sufficient papers with it to not need anything.
The car is already road registered so no issues.I assume the intention is to have the car road registered but how are you going to go about it?

Could this fit a normal Tuscan :-))) ?
I like where your going with this. Very unlikely though, it really is a monster. I'm not even aware of anyone else who has taken an AM engine this far. We had to bespoke many of the parts in-house. Specialist bits like the oil pump were designed and made elsewhere.PascalBuyens said:
Graham,
By the time the new goodies are on mine, you and I will need to have a word to who has the fastest of TVRs...
And an exchange ride in each others' cars
Very unlikely I'd let anyone else drive it but yes it would be very interesting to compare. I suggest we do this on a theoretical basis to start with. You have got me wondering what your doing to your car to get it into speed 12 territory? W112BHG is 840HP and weighs about a ton. The new Speed 12 "so to speak" will be less powerful and a little more practical on the road. The AM engine started at something like 550HP and there have been quite a few changes since. You have me intrigued.By the time the new goodies are on mine, you and I will need to have a word to who has the fastest of TVRs...

Am I right in saying they turned the power down on your genuine sp 12, I'm sure John and Jason was saying it made stupid power but impossible to fuel
No one knows exactly what it is capable of due to breaking the dyno when it was tested. Something around 1000HP is probably about right in full racing spec. 980HP is often quoted. The cars also ran with restrictors when racing to bring the power down even further down to around 650HP. mikeinsheffield said:
Great work Graham - utterly fantastic to see the progress and work coming together.
For some reason, I'm REALLY looking forwards to Chatsworth this year....
.... (really hoping that your very special cars will be there)
Colour - deffo needs to be a reflex or pearleasent paint finish to highlight all of those outragious curves! Reflex charcoal looked great - but the Speed 12 could go LOUDER!
Unfortunately I won't be at Chatsworth having sold my S6 Cerbera and the S12's just won't be ready in time.. BHG "Big Hairy Gonad" is waiting in the queue to have work done and BFV "big friendly vehicle" will probably be heading towards the paint shop about then. For some reason, I'm REALLY looking forwards to Chatsworth this year....

1000BHP plus. When racing it was restricted to 650BHP. Even now W112BHG will spin it's wheels in all gears. Previous owner came over to see me at the weekend. He reckons he had the wheels spinning at 186mph and this wasn't using anything like full throttle! Another nice story was putting it against a race prepared Cerbera on a rolling start.. It took six seconds before the 12 was out of sight (on a straight road, I mean straight track).edited for typo.
