You are clearly MISSING the point!
Yet again.........the Chim does NOT have a "T" chassis.
Your car has a V8 engine in place, where a V8 engine came out. That is all. That is NOTHING like putting a V8 into a Tuscan.
Speed Eight
Not missed the point pal.!!! I was simply agreeing with your reasoning. YOU stated that if it can be done then stop spouting and do it !!. That is what Jon decided to do when there was "pub talk" about will it wont it fit........Not interested in XYZ chassis rails blah blah blah !! If you cant see someone agreeing with you on the forum its time you packed it in !!!. Rant at the right people next time. Take a chill pill............Christ !!. You`ll be on the " Health Matters Forum next asking about cures for high blood pressure and relaxation techniques rolleyes

Mitch.
Totally agree with mad Mitch on your attitude. You do not own this thread or have any right/say in what members of the public wish to say. It is a public forum where well meaning people like to chat and discuss. If you want the facts straight then talk to the experts in person.

There u go again...........!!!. You obviously have far more skill in dealing with your design/engineering than you do with people. Dont know u as you dont me. I have butted heads on the forums before although a few years ago, but was NEVER too big to admit when i had been an arse. Come on fella, lighten up. Dont need arguments on public forums when there is no good reason. nono

I asked of Chimjunkie, what experts?
Because Chimjunkie told me to talk to them, so he must know them.
There is no point whatsoever to just write something and not back it up. Or do you think that there is?

So who are they then; these people who will give me the facts straight in person?
Are these the "people" that have built the mythical LS engine Speed Six Tuscan?
Of course not, because it does not exist.

As for your car the ex Mr Jellison car.
I am sure that you do like it and that it is a fine car.

But it was off the point of this thread. It does not have a Tuscan Speed Six chassis.
Now this whole thread was in answer to............has anyone put a V8 in the Tuscan yet?
It is a very simple question.

The problem with PH is that when you read the threads they wander way off the point in the time it takes to get 3 posts down on the screen.
No disrespect to your car was intended, or indeed stated.
It was a simple case of being way off the point of the thread.

For the second/last/final time.........I dont care about the chassis/what engine or any of the tech issues of this thread. If you will just simply READ what i typed it would help. tumbleweed I was simply AGREEING with you that anyone that says it has or can be done to put there money where their mouth is!!!.
The only reason i mentioned the LS6 Chim is because it was the first of the Chims to be done. Many had talked about it but never done it. Jellison put his money where his mouth was and DID IT !!!. The fact that i am having to explain that i was in agreement with you beggars belief.!!!!!

LISTEN UP!

To all you tape measure heroes and Pub talk specialist.

How do I know that the LS will NOT fit unless you carve the chassis up?

Because I have had one in the bloody engine bay, that is how.

Now the Tuscan chassis rails are 22 inches apart, YES.......22 inches.
So how the *ucking hell will a 27 inch wide motor fit without cutting the rails...........over to all you EXPERTS!

Other points.
Have any of you taken any account of the bonnet "swoop" and where you will put the alternator and power steering pump?
Have you seen how much adjustment "swing" you will be left with on both of these items?

Have you any conception of the vertical chassis rail in the Tuscan chassis and how this will impede the position of the LS motor/gearbox/starter motor position and thus the forward position of the motor itself?

Have you any real idea as to how much vertical height you will be dealing with when the bonnet is down and where the maximum height will be in relation to the forward to rear position?

The answer to all of the above is NO!

Speed Eight.
My chassis rails on my Cerbera are 22.5"ish apart, and mine is in??? You dont fit the widest part of in there anyway, the sump would clobber every speed hump from here to Tesco's. As for swing on alternators that was so last Tuesday, you use concentric jockey wheels these days as most cars have this decade. If i find a T350/Saggy cheap enough it will be getting one thrown in. Are you sure on your bhp figures? your old engine i believe made 650@11000rpm didnt it? smile

if some one wants one doing i WILL make one fit,i have done cerberas,rx7s,lexus is200,z3m,e36 evo,etc all with lsx motors most after being told they will not fit, the width of the motor is not always the important thing its where its wide and normally if a pig iron old sbc will go in then so will a ls, by the (speed eight) which dyno do you use as i would like a run on it for the pub,i take it that is at the wheels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was reliably informed by a respected TVR specialist and engine builder that there is an LSx Tuscan out there.

He couldn't answer the chassis cut but did think there had been some meddling. I will ask again.

The bonnet swoop was long gone though, which for me rules out the conversion - even before we get into the character of the S6 that would be lost.

As an aside I know a chap who hires out scrap blocks and heads etc for people doing this stuff. Then they can mock up a test fit.

Speed eight is right.

people keep talking about putting an LS into a Tuscan but NO ONE HAS DONE IT........

Speed eight has tried it and it DOES NOT FIT unless you are prepared to do some serious chassi modifications. SP8 has replaced the SP6 in the Tuscan so he has actually put his money whare his mouth is this is not "pub talk" but fact.

As i understand it he has a fantastic conversion and one he is rightly proud of, I can understand his frustration when people tell on the forums that this and that can/should have been done but they haven't actually done it.

We should embrace the knowlage that people like SP8 can bring to the forums as he clearly knows what he is talking about.

We've not finished the Tuscans yet (Targa S and Convertible in build) but we do have 2 Sagaris completed and registered 2009 - so the LS7 does fit it just needs a little persuasion!!

Need to get some better pics up but it gives you an idea
