The car is a work of art, it looks like thats how it left the factory. I certainly admire your engineering skills, but being a purist the only negative is that it is no longer a TVR, just a TVR body, but i have to say that it looks a million dollars.
I assume you mean because it no longer has a TVR engine?
In my book that makes it MORE of a TVR! My Chim' has a
rover engine and bits from Ford, Vauxhall & citroen on it
(And plenty of others i don't know about i'm sure)
Btw I love Cerb's, they are all stunning

yes

Agreed. What utter tripe.

So the car no longer has a TVR chassis, suspension, steering, electrics, interior, body, etc,etc ? rolleyes

There isn't and never was such a thing as a 'pure' TVR....part of their fascination as far as I'm concerned. smile

I would just like to thank you Rich for the opportunity to shoot your stunning TVR and i was blown away with how many where used in sprint and my first cover shot too smile.
also thank you to all the TVR enthusiasts around the globe for clicking on the links to flickr and checking the pics out.

you TVR guys have been the most supportive owners i have ever shot for and thats why most of my shoots lately have been of TVR's.

In that case, my next car will be a Rich LS S/C. If he can ever be persuaded to sell or go into business!

I dare say lots of kit car manufacturers got started this way. Probably even TVR themselves.

Never really understood why people who change their cars to better suit themselves get so defensive when someone says they're not original.

They're obviously not. Did TVR ever make a Cerb with an LS in? Nope, they didn't the car isn't original.

However you need 8 points to have the DVLA consider the car authentic

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSell...

The engine is only one point, so pretty much any car out there you could put an LS in and still call the car original.

But there must be a reason that people don't buy ferraris and shove an LS in. It can't be because they are worried about someone calling their car a kit cos according to the government its only lost one point of its authenticity and still got way enough to call itself a ferrari.

Oh I know, its because car enthusiasts would laugh at them.

But would their car enthusiast friends laugh at them if the replacement engine was bigger, and faster.

I guess some would, and some wouldn't. Which is probably why opinion gets split whenever someone posts the dreaded 'original' word on a thread, more impressive for one guys dedication to the car of his dreams.

I say enjoy the car and have fun with it.

Yes but the big difference is, yours left the factory like that, and is as TVR intended.

So what? If TVR could have afforded to put better parts and a bigger engine in, they would have. Hence the White Elephant using that whacking great Holden V8. The spirit of TVR is to make the car as nuts as possible whilst keeping it looking stylish and different.

redcard Slow down chaps, this is turning into another originality debate rolleyes

Its all been said before, is it a TVR once you've changed the engine blah blah blah, is it a TVR once you change the suspension blah blah blah, it just depends where you draw the line, its different for everyone. Why do we have to get so pedantic smile

I'm chuffed we got to 9 pages before this old record got played again.

Start a new thread if you want to debate what to call it....or just search for the last time it came up and spoiled a good thread frown

I wrote what I think in my article and I hope most people can see reason with that. The TVRCC see fit to call it a Cerbera and I'm happy with that, if they want to revoke my membership thats fine....I'd just get some "fk the Factory" stickers made up hehe

Rich.

What an article it was! I thought it was a fantastic read and very well written.

I like a clean, original Tiv as much as the next man, but I must doff my cap to the folks out there who are keeping the marque fresh and doing exciting new things. I love the LS Cerb and have a lot of respect for the work done on it; very professional looking install that looks as though it came out the factory that way. I might also add that I love the orange Tamaris/Sagora that featured in Sprint a while back too; not on the same plane as the Cerb, but equally as nuts!

I don't think i'd ever want to drop an LS into our T350, but I can understand anyone who does, and have major respect for those that manage it.

Well done sir, and ignore the nay-sayers and critics. If you love it, that's all that matters! There are plenty of people out there who love it too!

Great engineering on the of the world's most beautiful cars. I thought I wanted a Chim, but I'm going to keep saving and get the Cerb!

Cheers guys thumbup Was good to meet you Gazzab and everyone else that said hello. Car went like a dream all weekend, couldn't fault it. Tuscan exhaust cans make it much easier to live with on long runs.

Looking forward to lots of summer miles but keep thinking what life would be like at 9psi whistle

Rich.

Love this car. fantastic job there. I'm just waiting for the right day (one where the wife isn't spending all my cash on the house, lol) before I can start something like this myself.
