Glad you're feeling better!
Green sludge was coming out of me last week.
Down to a mere trickle.
Then all of my frustration got the better (no, I think WORST) of me and I punched our walk-in refrigerator.
Two stainless smile pins in my fifth metacarpal and no playing with the stuff in the Garage for another five to six weeks.
Guess where at least a part of that $4,000 could have gone.

Aaaaah, spring.
fking hell Bernard,i thought i was having a bad time of it .
I could have made you the stainless pins FOC,i'm sure i'd have a drill bit the correct size for your bones, all we would need then is someone to stitch you back up wink

Piston Heads saving car funds matters hehe

hope you get better soon

Does anyone know the weight difference between the Aluminium/Magnesium/Iron versions?
Mag case weighs 6.5kg which is a third of the weight of the cast iron case.
Ally case is 11kg

hope this helps you Bernard

Thanks Steve,

From those weights, it seems that they may use the same/similar casting patterns for the Al and the Mg version. As it takes a little more Mg in mass to get to the same overall strength of the Al unit, we can make a leap and guess that the Al version is somewhat stronger. Considering the availability of great Al casting alloys today, it should also be significantly more durable. If you're not building a full-out race car in which all of the parts are on a life-cycle, there's only one choice.

BTW, what's the monetary cost of that 8.5Kg weight loss? Is there a way of/place for comparing a new cast iron complete unit and a new Al complete unit?

page 17,shows an ally and mag casing they look the same.

A bloke on ebay gets new old stock jag diffs but there never powerlok, not sure if you can buy them new off the shelf.

The Cobra builders are using ally casings, theres talk of them putting up to 750 hp through it with no probs yikes

This bonnet is used on a race car, seems to work ok.
I'm working on a subtle front splitter to keep the front on the floor.
The roof is going to be tied to the rollcage front and rear and the screens bonded in.

Steve - does it need that bonnet bulge - does not look like it from the install pics. Mine easily cleared a low Chim hood.
No it easily clears,i'm using the bonnet bulge to reduce heat build up.
Alot of large engine M's seem to suffer overheating problems,i also think it will look rather good with the SE arches.
Need to get better pics so you can see how low the engine is,the bottom of the sump is 2 1/2" below the chassis.

The Brian Hough Modsports Beast.

Unfortunately he met his maker in it when a caliper came loose at Thruxton (eek - worse place it could happen).

This thing was a natural progression of the Griffith from the 60's, but with wide 70's slicks, vented big front brakes and replacing the re drums with discs too and with about 500+bhp from a stretched SBF smile
BTW you may want to add a gurney flap at the rear of the bonnet.

Good luck, Jonathan
Thanks Jonathan, seen the pics about a year ago would have been nice to see it in action driving

Gurney flap at the rear of the bonnet? any pics
