The best red was Candy Apple Red, but it faded like you wouldn't belive. There was a candy apple red griff for sale in the classifieds a while back. Just had a look and cant see it.

I fell in love with that colour when the factory painted one of the first V8S's in it.

It made you want to the car.

Brian - talking of full resprays, and as you're not too far away from me, I'd be very interested to find out who does the job for you and what sort of price we are talking about

The car (must find an appropriate name for it) is at tvr bodyshop in Bristol. Jason Webb there was very, very helpful, and as I also intend to have a headlight conversion, and rear light upgrade at the same time, they seem to be the best people for the job. Prices are not yet finalised, but will let you know, if you are interested, as the work is progressed. Sod it, I think I may as well have new carpets and new dash as well!

Bloody hell I just choked on my tea!

Was that a joke or were more people than just Podie assaulted that night? No idea why I can't remember much

Lisa - that's an awfully short dress you're wearing.

Well mines in my profile if you want to have a look. It's not a metallic finish and there have been no problems with fading or colour matching with the two repairs I've had to have done due to car park numpties.

Nice motor! Your rosso red looks very different to mine, and looks more of a 'flat' colour, not the sort of sheen that mine has (had) - is your rosso more like the standard Ferrari rosso red, not the tvr rosso effect? Sorry if I'm mumbling away, it's all a bit confusing, but the rosso effect is certainky more like that on the 350 shown earlier.

How strange, my Griff is also a Rosso Red but it is not a problematic colour in any way.

There are about half a dozen different formulations of Rosso Red. They have a tendency to fade. Some are better than others but if you have a nose-and-ears job, you'll probably be able to tell the difference.

It is THE most stunning colour when fresh though. IMO it suits the Cerbera like a match made in heaven but it does look good on the T350 too. Cue Lisa with her magic photo wand.....

edited to say bugger, she beat me to it

My Cerb is Rosso Pearl and I've never thought much of it until yesterday when I was visited by another Rosso Pearl Cerb (Hi Paul). They were completely different colours, the difference being mine has spent its life in garages and is still red, Pauls had spent a few years outside and was now closer to pink...

My Cerbera is finished in Knightfire Pearl Red which is an alternative to the Rosso Pearl Red (provided yours is the pearl and not the flat red?). It's a very slightly deeper red than the Rosso and doesn't have the associated fade issues the Rosso has. Must admit that the Knightfire looks superb on the T350!!

It certainly does! And yes, mine is (was) a pearl rosso, not a flat rosso red, where possibly some of the confusion re rosso occurs. Have spoken at length with Jason Webb at tvr bodyshop, who is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, just have to decide which way to go.

Was that the one they used pictures of parked in the sand dunes like a beach buggy in the initail publicity . If so thats red'er than a red thing on a red day in redland . Didn't Monza red take over from that, I think even that fades. To be honest not my favourite colour on a Tiv, but each to their own, or we'll all be driving BRG Tivs .

Did you, by any chance, have the sun directly behind you when you took that photo?

Great colour BTW!

We use a Lotus red when we colour change Rosso. Doing one next week. Could send you a sample if it would help.

Thanks. Yes, mine is the Ferrari Rosso Red.

"That looks familiar - a sort of toffee-apple colour in one light and almost pinky in another. Looks a bit like my Griff - Cherry Pearl. "

Certainly does sound familiar, could not describe it better myself, but mine is down as "Hot Pink" not Rosso Red or Cherry Pearl... or has it faded.

I have to get out to some meetings when the weather gets better. Compare cherries in the flesh, so to speak.

Rosso Pearl - absolutely fabulous colour when fresh but was an ink based paint - hence it faded and was a nightmare to match up. Later formulas subsequently reduced the reliance on ink - but still it faded.

We recommend repainting in Mazda - Laser Red as being very close in shade but without the associated drawbacks.
