I think the chap has confused "fuel pipe burst spraying onto the exhaust manifold" and "fuel pipe on the exhaust manifold"
Typical of the kind of misinterpretations the knockers like to get their teeth into I suppose :sigh:
Chims, and Griffs, do have a fuel pipe issue, but its not to do with them melting, its to do with them perishing, and then leaking. The heat in the engine bay acclerates the perishing of the rubber, and it can crack.Typical of the kind of misinterpretations the knockers like to get their teeth into I suppose :sigh:
I had to replace the fuel lines on mine, as they were leaking fuel. Its something any TVR Indy would check as part of a service.. one of the benifits of going to someone who understands TVR's rather than a random garage..

You may have missed the "insight" they are referring to Dave? - bit like a 'loose' cannon
I must own up to a morbidly curious interest to see how this thread develops in moral "compharison" to the treatment that Thorpey was given recently..
Ah right. Yes the first post had been removed by the time I saw the thread.I must own up to a morbidly curious interest to see how this thread develops in moral "compharison" to the treatment that Thorpey was given recently..
As Derek is giving this away for free and has no conflicting commercial interests as far as I can tell then hopefully he won't get too many 'knockers'.
Looks like a very helpfull guide from first glance.
Cheers Derek
I've got to say I've been overwhelmed by the response from the PH article. I've been working all day to keep up - at one time I had 73 requests for the Resource in an hour. For those of you experiencing problems with a link in the Resource, I'll get back to you. I've been given a simple solution but this time I will check it thoroughly.
The original 'fix' to a problem found by 3 recipients came from a chap, a friend, with an iMac. I followed his instructions as he worked for an IT company. When I pointed out the fundamental error in his advice he said: Oh, yeah.
We are still friends but only just.
I've had a total of 288 requests. A tribute to the advertising potential of PH.
Some things I've learned today. You'd be surprised how irritating an automated response can be when you get about 50. Further, despite writing for a email marketing company and in one article saying you should ensure that you have the resources to deal with more responses than you expect, I don't listen to myself. And you will be surprised to find just how many people email from an address where, when you send something to them they say they are out of the office.
Thanks for the kind words. I won't have time to respond to them individually so I hope you are satisfied with a general thank-you.
And thanks to PH. I am stunned by the response.
Those who had sent an email before 9pm (my time - I've got replies from all round the world) should have had the file delivered to them. If you haven't please let me know tomorrow.

I just logged on to 57 requests for the Resource. There will be a bit of a delay in filling these. You should get them by this aftrnoon.
HOWEVER:
I have had advice from three solicitors (unsolicited so against their rules so I can't thank them publicly, or enough come to that) and I have had to modify the Resource to take their comments on board. (58)
What they have told me is that I should not give guidance as it leaves me open to being sued. But the remedy is simple enough. All I have had to do is change the Resource into an 'I did this' (or as others have contributed, they did this and they have to be protected as well). I've been advised to be a limited company (60).
So everyone who has had a file sent them will receive another. They should also discard the original file immediately. I do apologise. Mind you, the file has also been modified to include easier access.
Oddly enough I've been advised not to take out PLI as it makes being sued more likely. The world has gone mad, hasn't it. (61)
I should have checked so the error is mine. However, it doesn't make paying out to be a limited liability (62) company any easier.
There will be a caveat in the emails. It is patronising and a little rude. I'm sorry of course but it has to be done.
I've also got to upgrade my hosting package on RV8R as the server has been overwhelmed.
What nice solicitors frequent PH.
64 emails so it looks as if it is the evening to fill them. If it carries on like this it might be Christmas.
Cheers gents. On the bright side, I was supposed to be taking my wife shopping today so at least I'm out of that.

Derek,
Got mine too - many thanks indeed, but sadly I can't seem to make it work. I downloaded the Zip file to my desktop and then opened it and followed instructions - the 'Start' page displays, but there are no pictures/graphics and the links won't load - browser message tells me that the page can't be found.
Clearly I am not doing something I should be?
Anyone any ideas's?
Thanks,
Owen

I've not got mine yet but I suspect you just need to extract the files from the zip into a directory. Right click > Extract all.Got mine too - many thanks indeed, but sadly I can't seem to make it work.
