Have a quick read of the label on the POR15 tin dbv8 - I'm sure you only have a window of something like 8-16hrs when you can apply the 2nd coat if you are putting on 2 coats.
It caught me out a bit when I did mine and made for a very long day.
I will check thanks. It caught me out a bit when I did mine and made for a very long day.
i thought you could add a second coat anytime along with topcoats.
I think its best to use the whole tin if you can as the paint will go off quickly even in the tin. Or you place what you need in another container then cling film over the paint in the tin so its not in contact with air.
I also have the silver topcoat to finish the job off.

stupid question but can it not be galvanised before painting? I would hate to go through all that again in a few years
I'm planning to get my outriggers done this year.Last autumn I exchanged a couple of emails with SportMotive about galvanisation. It's not something they currently do but, in principle they're happy to supply bare outriggers for me to get galvanised and return to them to be finished and fitted. There are a number of hot dip galvanising companies not too far from SportMotive.
I need to get this ball rolling again...
I was driving down the A7 Autobahn in Germany back in 1999 and started to feel a little bit more flexing of the body of my Wedge.
It was noticable that my seat seemed to have more vertical travel.
Anyway back in Englang the workshop took the Wedge skirts off and found pretty much the same as you.
Replaced with stainless pipes as way of repair.

Sorry i havent got 1 of the hernias
It's funny, there aren't many things that you can paint any colour you like and no one can criticise you for it. However, I think a TVR chassis must be one of them. If it was me I think I'd go for a glow-in-the-dark paint that lit up the engine bay and made the underside of the car glow. But then I'm strange like that.

Looks great Did you brush or sprey the POR15?just reading about it, sounds interesting stuff.
can't see anywhere about heat resistance though just wondering as exhaust pipes etc etc must run very close to the chasis at some points.
