Is there anywhere on PistonHeads with infor about this event? or could someone recap so I can avoid going through the painful process of reading all of the post in this thread.

Any Notts/Mansfield locals feel free to email me offline to sort out some sort of meeting place/route, it will be easier than discussing on the forum

Blackmonday, it's an informal meet, at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, on Sunday, 9th. June, starting at 12:30. It will be a static meet i.e. no racing about, and there's people coming up from all over, including plenty from Surrey/London etc. (even PetrolTed himself!). Bring some wine, beer, portable barbie, food etc. and have a ball! It might be worth getting a group of owners together for a convoy up the M1. So far, roughly 60 PHers have signed up, and I imagine more will be coming who haven't put it in their PH diaries. Get your nice Tuscan "oop north!"

Incidentally, does anyone need accommodation the night before/ Here's a few suggestions, but there's loads of hotels in the area surrounding Chatsworth, including Buxton, Castleton, Baslow, Chesterfield and Matlock.

Have a look on page 8 of this discussion .. a few ideas about printing flags with your name on it to stick in your window, above tax disc etc.

Obviously posted when I didn't know where you were from! I think there's one or two Manchester/Cheshire boys coming, so perhaps check out the list of participants, and e-mail them for a meet! See you there!

I'm coming from High Wycombe. Haven't looked at a map
yet, but will probably be going up the M1 which is what it sounds like a lot of others will be doing. So if you want to meet at a service( can they really call it that) area or somewhere on the way that would be good. If the drive is anything like that back from Castle Comb it should be quite fun.

London area and M25 travellers......

What about meeting at South Mimms in the morning. Bottom of M1/A1. Probably the best place I reckon.... about 8:30 to 9:00 am.

Any takers or other suggestions ???

Cheers

Mark

Woohoo! The 390 is back on the road and passed its MOT this morning:-

(MOT Tester): Hiya, how ya doin? Still got this old heap then?!
(ME): Aye, not too bad John. Wife and kids alright?
(MOT Tester): Yer... another one on the way. Anything wrong with the car?
(ME): Nope, just had an engine rebuild and a pair of track rod ends.
(MOT Tester): OK then, come inside and I'll get your ticket. It's thirty quid now, you know....

:-D

So, if I go down to the girlfriends the night before, I can just nip up the M1 from J23...;-)
If you spot a silver Wedge spewing steam and pistons on the hard shoulder, kindly stop and give me a ciggy. I don't smoke, but I've been practising throwing things into a 2" pipe from 10 feet...;-)
