Just over 30... In fact 30 + 10 days

A drive across England in a convoy sounds like a good idea to me.. "We left hundreds and arrived thousands..."

I'm over thirty too, but apache remembers the original stagecoach version with Doris Day

Serious brownie points could be earned on the day by having lunch at either Hassop Hall, or Haddon Hall - the former has an entrance flanked by high stone walls on which they mount burning torchs at night - mmmm, very romantic - and "oops, what are all those noisy cars over there", or, "how about finishing off a lovely day with a visit to Chatsworth?" Sorted.

It may work: you have no TVR so she might not be too suspectful...

9th June sounds good too me, but a long way away, anyone from Nottingham going?
And if any southerners want to meet up on their way up north I'm sure a meeting point could be arranged!

Presuming a route using the M1.....South Mimms as a staging point for any cars travelling around the M25 or out of London.

What ya reckon ???

Travelling from north Cambs (where there are basically NO TVRs at all what's gonna be the best place to meet up with all you lot going north – have i gotta travel across to the M1 – or better to go up the A1/A52 and meet up with the Notts boys!

We could organise a number of staging posts all the way up the M1. You cold come across on the A14 and meet us somewhere along it.

It would a laugh to get a whole load of us together in one convoy !!

Cheers

Best to get off at J29, M1, as Chatsworth is signed through Chesterfield :- www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=425000&Y=375000&zoom=5

Try not to get lost in the town centre, and check out the twisted church spire...

Raceboy/MikeyT - I am in Nottingham but...

How the hell do I explain to the Fiancee going up to look for a Sunday lunch in derbyshire while tagging along (don't worry, I'll stay trailing off the back) with a great thundering load of TVRs?

My cunning plan is falling apart...

(and don't worrying the centre of Chesterfield is really easy to navigate)

Cheers, Phil

Not sure that coming through Chesterfield following the signs for Chatsworth is a good idea. Have you seen the queues that build up from donkins roundabout round onto chatsworth road. Too many OAPs out for sunday drives.....

Mind you, I wouldn't want to try and direct people around the other side of town....

I was considering going via Matlock, so would come off the M1 before Chesterfield, (Well actually I wouldn't get on it) but I'm pretty flexible and will go with the majority, but there is plenty of time to arrange the finer points of this trip.

I'll join from central Herts. Meeting at South Mimms is good for me.

Reckon we can get more than 50 in the convoy?

Suggest you come off M1 at J28, down A38 south for about 2 miles, take Alfreton/matlock turn off follow signs to matlock (a nice road if you get a clear run at it), Make sure you slow down as you go down the long hill into Matlock , there is often a speed trap there, go over matlock Crown square, onto A6, follow signs to Chatsworth. Total time from J28 M1 to Chatsworth? : Max 45 mins in a mundano, but in a Tiv............

Andy 400se, and Matlock resident!
