As suggested on the original thread, it is probably wise to start a new thread to avoid any confusion.

Like everyone else, I was very keen to get one of these, especially after seeing one on a car at Chatsworth. Perhaps with the possible restart of TVR with overseas manufacture it is even more fitting to emphasize the british heritage of our cars!

I have spoken to a couple of manufacturers I know that should be able to make these.

Initial discussions suggest the final cost based on numbers of people that have expressed an interest would be around £20, and take approx 8/9 weeks to supply (3/4 weeks to design and get sample to approve, then 4-5 weeks to make them all).

I don't want to step on anyones toes if they are closer to sorting these out, but i got the impression that it is looking expensive with the previous supplier and had come to a hault. If there are no objections then i'm happy to continue discussions if people are happy with it costing about £20 max delivered - hopefully less.

Let me know any thoughts!

I replied on the other thread, and thought I ought to reply on here.

If anyone has a design or even Gcode you would halve the cost of the production. It can't be beyond one of you wanting this. smile

So why do we need to start all over again? why not just change the title details and leave the list as was?

Because plenty of people didnt want to pay more than £12 for the badges, I think at £20 the same will apply so it gives everyone the opportunity to have a rethink and gives a true level of interest.

It only takes a few seconds to add yourself back in, no big drama :-)

£12 to £20 dont think thats really going to make a difference.
The £12 price was from some 4? years back and was only a budget price

Can I just check the sizes of the badges pls. I seem to remember the original batch had larger front / rear style badges (I'm assuming these will be the size with lugs). There were also smaller badges that were ideal for under the side indicators. Potentially, there would therefore be:
Front / Rear size badges - both with and without lugs
Side (smaller badges) without lugs

Can anyone clarify this point? thx

Very early in discussions and speaking to a few companies and also discussing different material/manufacturing method benefits etc. to try and get the best quality badge - So please take the £20 as a very very rough (hopefully worst case) price. WIth a bit of luck it will be less than this. Thought the last ones were £18 though? Anyway, not sure if there is copper in the metal - that could account for some of the increase in prices! biggrin

It is good to have the wiki to guage interest and quantities required, but until final samples are made and final cost announced then no point worrying too much. If for example it came back and the cost was too high and people want to cancel their interest then they can do that then - But if people work on £20 max then it should only be good news! I just didn't want to say it's looking like £10 then end up being £20 and people drop out again!

The one area I may need to explore is whether there are any copyright issues with the use of TVR logo which could come back to bite me or the manufacturer at a later stage! I have noted previous comments that it is not a copy of a TVR supplied badge design and will not be sold as TVR made, but still will take advice on this - One good manufacturer requires some clarification of this so may need to investigate a bit...

If anyone has the skills to make the design or G Code that may reduce the cost down, but not sure it will halve it - It's quite a straight forward design really (although know nothing about how complicated it is to make the G Code.

For now I guess just re-fill names in the wiki and i'll post more details as they come available.
