Tim - just a thought, most people have paypal, so one option is to email everyone on the list and ask them to send whatever the amount comes to including shipping and any paypal fees to you via paypal with their PH user name as the reference. Easy to keep track then via your paypal account of who has paid.

I'm sure there wil be some people that need an alternative but if the bulk can use paypal it will make the admin at lot easier for you.
Yep thats how we did things when I was with the Supra club. Just PM everyone with the amount and your Paypal address, they then send you the money +4% fees with their username and something like "PH TVR BADGE GROUP BUY" in the description.

That way you can easily see who has paid and what their address is.
Just a thought, if you use paypal and pay a 'gift' dont you avoid fees? Not sure, just asking as it might help...

PD1 - I've added your name to the list for side badges.

Regarding payments, i'm considering a couple of options of what to do... will try to decide over the weekend what to do. It would be good to avoid paypal fees if possible, but I agree it is probably the easiest way to handle the payments and 3-4% fee doesn't add a massive amount to the cost.

Samples taking longer than expected but i've been told they should be with me by 2nd June. Then bulk order of badges within a couple of weeks of then.

If a final price has been agreed, I would be happy to send you a cheque now (to include P&P - by a recorded service perhaps). It might be a bit old fashioned these days, but it would give you cleared funds in good time. If enough people did that, the burden of securing payment from others might become more manageable. Only a thought and happy to go with the flow.

With the heat sinks I am organizing, the easiest way for me is to get people to do a bank transfer and putting their name/PH name in the reference section. Seems to be working so far and no fees. Paypal seems to charge fees for some and not for others even when they send as a gift....odd!

Tim popped round to show me the badges last night for a second opinion. I have to say they are damned good, the colours are deep, the size is right and they look fantastic.

I wasnt considering the small side badges but having seen them in the flesh I am going to have to buy some now.

I know there are still a few things to sort out with the backing material (foam and sticky stuff) and some slight blemishes in the enamel (that can only be seen up close), but I think thats due to the production process (tim is going to check). But these are minor points, the quality is excellent (especially considering the price) and I would have taken the sample and stuck them straight on the car !

I know Tim is going to be in Lemans so its going to be a few weeks before this is all finalise but let me say once again, nice one tim !

Hi Tim,

These badges look first class - if it is not a problem would there be any chance of 2 side badges and 1 front
badge, all adhesive backed.

Regards, Trev

If you look closely I *think* the bottom left is gold. Having seen them IMHO the silver looks much better than the gold on my blue paintwork so I will be replacing my current gold badge with the silver version.

The top large one and bottom left one are gold. I think the chrome look better too with the Red white and blue of the flag, but it's personal preference really and depends if it fits in with other gold badges on your car. I will try to take a better photo of the badges so you can see the colour better but it's difficult photographing something so shiny!

All they said with the Gold ones was that the gilt finish is softer and would not be as hard wearing in outside weather conditions as the Chrome. He still thought it would last years if looked after but not as long as the Chrome finish. He did suggest that applying a laquer over it would help protect it from the elements.

They are just getting back to me about a couple of things regarding the finish and fitments of the badges then i can confirm cost. but should be (just) within the price range indicated originally.

The small black marks (which you have to be close to see anyway) should not be in the final versions or at least will be tiny as i have said they are not really acceptable. I think as they only made the samples they left them in, It is something that can happen during manufacturing, but on a run these should be minimised and they would remove and bad ones before sending.

Off to Le Mans Thursday AM (will be on Maison Blanche with badge on car hopefully if you are down there come have a look), so doubt i'll update much before i get back other than trying to upload some more photos tomorrow. Perhaps look to place order at end of next week...

Cheers,

Tim

I like both but have a gold badge on the rear so would like the others to match.

Any chance they could lacquer the gold ones?
