I'd think Morgans could have airbags in all markets as they've done the tests for the US.

I don't see how it cannot be a lot more expensive to make than the Speed 6?
Try writing down all of the parts and the assembly for each engine. V8 has two heads but each is smaller. S6 with 24valves and FFs is a lot more complex. Line boring, etc. for 6 cyls is more difficult than 4.5. Overall there's not a lot in it. There's a reason why the V8 rebuilds are cheaper than the S6 ones.
So why in your opinion was it dropped if it wasn't cost? confused

How many "new Tvrs" with big yank engines were in Goodwood then?????
OH god what have I opened up here???
I just wanted to know if they were there : NO
what car they presented: NONE
to see (regardless of engine likes),
whether TVR might be alive: ER- NO
So file TVR - closed
I have wished them luck and was always listening to news and I understand that things take time - but you do not leak out a display if it won't happen (I know it was never ever confirmed but they should have strongly denied it when it first leaked, ideally with a more realistic date)
Fact is there PR was always scensoredt- another reason why there engine debakel cost so much reputation (see BMW Vanos and Porsche Watercooled engines or Mercedes ELK testfor how to do this right )

IS this the car that could finally herald the resurrection of TVR? Our amazing image shows how a new roadster, with a Corvette V8 engine, could look.

Although plans to build the model in eastern Germany have fallen at the final hurdle, the company has vowed to fight on – and could produce it on its own in the UK. TVR bosses had been in talks with FMS, the owner of Gullwing – which produces a modern-day Mercedes 300SL – but were unable to agree terms.

The two parties had been working towards a joint venture, which would have seen the emergence of a powerful new roadster. This car was designed by TVR man David Martin, who based himself at the Gullwing factory in Germany to build a prototype.

Gullwing chief Jurgen Mohr – a former TVR owner – would have been well placed to build the car, which took shape as a wider-bodied open-top designed to use the Corvette V8. In the end, Mohr and TVR boss Nikolai Smolenski couldn’t agree a deal, but the firm remains positive that a new car is possible, and is continuing its efforts to put it into production.

“It would be desirable to build it in the UK, and we’re keeping our options open,” said TVR secretary James Oxley.

Named after Gerry Marshall's daughter. A man who was infinitely more involved in the history and survival of TVR than anyone ever appreciates.

Errrrr, from the original article: "Your speculation is as good as ours, but we do know that the US is a key market for the new TVR business plan."
