Would be good to see a cost comparison between an LS conversion and a 4.5 Speed Six Upgrade.

Definately worth thinking about in the future.

But you can see how the reputation is hard to shake off - Just ask Lancia about rust. They haven't had a problem with rust for years.
It's strange how differently Mercedes are treated. They just say they've sorted the problem and everybody just accepts it. In 30 years time will Clarkson be telling us a pile of rust is an E Class that was left outside for 5 minutes?

The Mercedes reputation is very poor re rust. A very high % of owners who have had cars made in the 96 to 2002 ish era know what its like to see your 2 year old shiney silver car start to rust.

You've obviously owned a lot of TVRs to have come to that conclusion!

Strange how it's usually the people who've never even been in one that come out with the ill-informed crap about build and reliability!

Don't feed the troll, Jigsjigz has added just as much value and insight with his other 27 posts

Was in a 500+ brake R33 Skyline last weekend and it made me think: turboed straight 6 in a Sagaris would make more sense than a huge V8.

Am I alone here?

It must be a lot more than half finished now.

550bhp of an engine of 7litres is hardly anything to get excited over, beside it would be nice to see the TVR return properly to british roots. For me the TVR has lost it's soul since being in the Rusky's mitts, used to be car manufacture I loved but no more I'm afraid!!!

Quite. And the only car I saw broken down on the hard shoulder on my 160 mile drive yesterday was, unfortunately for this thread, a TVR (on the A21 dual carriageway Tonbridge bypass).
