I had stripes on mine for a couple of years, and thought they made the car stand out. It helps that I think they suit the car as well.

I bought and applied the stripes myself. cost about £15 for the vinyl andonly took a couple of hours to apply.

I'm a big fan of stripes for Le Mans - I've still got the grey ones on at the moment, would seriously consider having them re-done a little more permanently in metallic grey as they distract people from the stone chips!
