Totally reliable. That was a myth put about by one J.Clarkson Esq.
Come on be serious if you mean as reliable as your average Euro box then yes but compared to something built in the land of the rising sun then no.It's in for a service right now. Passed the MOT before Mat even started work on it, the faults found so far are new disks and pads needed (service items), front dampers weeping slightly (Gaz are putting them right today), two jubilee clips rotted through (they are 14 years old - just happen to secure the fuel hose to the pump ), bonnet coming loose at the hinge (Ok, bad design) and a slightly sticky passenger door.
In the last two years and 15,000 miles (and 15 track days) I have had the 100 amp fuse fail twice and the otter switch fail once. And lost reverse gear (ball bearing in the gearbox fell out - fixed under warranty). Not bad for a 1999 car.
I have had more trouble with my wife's 2000 reg Merc ML over similar mileage (Injectors, water pump, brake calipers, brakes locking on and catching fire)
Don't own anything from the land of the rising sun currently - the last one I did own was a Lexus LS400, which had £6000 of faults in three years including 5 months off the road while they tried to work out why it wouldn't go backwards in cold weather.....

It's great you've posted these pictures, our interiors are (were) indentical, the only apparent difference being I have the wood faced dash not aluminium.. I decided some time ago that when it came time for a carpet refresh I'd go for red, as I thought it would look very very nice.... and it does Really looks the dogs May I ask if you did it yourself (and if so where you bought the carpet set from) ?
Might have to bring the carpet update forward in the schedule now I've seen that

Dave the Trimmer in Milton Keynes. This carpet is from Coverdale but it's not the kit you can buy. Dave bought the roll of carpet and cut and finished it himself. Really good job IMHO.
I'm hoping to get to TITT if you're there and you're more than welcome to have a nosey. Not sure I'll be going to Burleigh as it's a fair distance but I'm not defo out just yet.
