Morning Peter
It went very well for the first outing on the resurfaced track. Lead for most of the race with a 9 second advantage then cruelly on lap 14 of 15 we had a small electrical fire and at the same time it threw its belt. so with smoke pouring into cockpit and it steam cleaning me I thought I best pull over, makes for interesting viewing. will get the video out on you tube soon.

Have you considered Flash Chrome, which is not as dark as Shadow Chrome?
That would suit you sir!
Never heard of it! www.google.......That would suit you sir!
They do it, as well as many other powdercoat finishes.
I was very pleased with their refurb work on my old TVR S1 OZ slots..

Do you know what caused the electrical fire? And what caused the belt to let go?
Turns out that the alternator tensioner lock nut vibrated loose, shedding the belt and in turn rubbed by one of the pulleys produced the smoke in the cockpit. I should have realised it was not an acrid smell of an electrical fire rather a rubber smell with all the smoke.
