If my memory serves me right these were the Barnet Motor Co. racing colours.
Suit the car so well, Gerry would have been proud. One of the most frightening drives of my life was in a MK1 Cortina GT up the high street with Gerry calmly winding through the traffic with just one hand on the wheel, I was very pale!
Thats an interesting factoid. Cheers. I know Martin Lilley liked Regal red and Silver on his Tuscan, I haven't seen any colour photos of MMT. This one is painted GTS red with moon dust silver. I wanted a more Burgundy shade compared to a vibrant red. I think it looks more period.Suit the car so well, Gerry would have been proud. I race a Griffy 400. I chose this car entirely because of Gerry. Always was and always will be my hero.

What does the silver key do on a cerb?
It's a manual kill switch effectively... Shuts down the fuel pump therefore stopping any power to the engine/wheels. Once I hit a bump on the M6 (while in the fast lane) and the said keys orientation was only slightly disturbed and sudden loss of power. Managed to coast to safety with pants soiled. A call to Power and eliminating things in my head to look at the key seemed normal tub on touching there had been movement. Reorientated and normal start up was fine. Since then have always wanted a more stable solution and I think I have a great one now.Dollyman1850 said:

Yes interestingly my old V6 Tuscan was supplied originally by Barnet Motor Co. and was regal red, so they obviously liked the colour. However I could never find out if the first owner had chosen this colour or if they had built it for stock. The silver roof on yours just puts that finishing touch to it.I race a Griffy 400.
