That car run's a wet sump Chim/Griff 500 spec road engine ( not one of the more exotic , original 4.5 Challenge spec Rover V8's) intended to change the engine one day, but the 5 litre has been great - only mods from road spec have been a modified Torque Flow TF500 (remember those) AFM, bigger injectors (Bosch from the AJP8 /Vauxhal red top iirc).
We had it on Jools rolling road some years back and we got 330BHP - since then we've fitted Jools blended trumpet base but not tried it properly, in the few laps we did get, it felt quicker than previous.
Proves to me how good these old Rover unit's are..
I should never ever have sold my Chimaera ! etc etc..
