Memories of a Cumbrian holiday.
I came around a blind corner on a single track country lane to find 200 cattle in the road five yards around the corner. Being a responsible person, and with no farm or farmer in sight, I found an empty pasture field and spent half an hour herding the beasts into it, as there was no way I could get past them and where they were looked unsafe.
I then drove to the nearest farm, dug the farmer out from his tea and let him know......expecting at least a "thank you".
No, the farmer told me to mind my own business, swore at me for interfering and putting his £200,000 investment onto an unused field of "good grass".
Totally spoiled my day and turned me right off helping Cumbrian farmers, and indeed farmers in general.

Were you waiting for your burnout tyre smoke to disperse Derek?

I never managed a proper burnout all day. They should have put some water down. So i only managed 1.9's to 60 foot and 11.6 was my best. With bad humps, dips and puddles to contend with lets just say it made for an interesting drive. Was fun.

Stopped me all right, my take on it was he drove into me at 135mph while I was overtaking him for the lead & and win on the last lap, last corner. He took me out proper, ended up in the barrier 200mts further on at camp corner. Good job the car will not be out again till April next year gives me some time to iron out some creases wink
