How does this match up with what you guys are paying?

Where do you recomend?

Phone Micheldever (www.micheldever.co.uk)

Always found they give the best prices, and they fit/deliver.

On this subject, anyone know if the front tyres (for a 15" alloy) by Toyo are Z rated? Looking at Toyo's advert in Sprint I would guess not which seems a bit risky.
Of course I could just ask my tyre dealer who does Toyos...

Also try www.topgear.co.uk - it might be worth trying the Avon ZZ3, which should be out in most sizes now. I found them excellent on the Tamora.

I can't remember the size of Chimaera fronts, but they've got SO3 225/50ZR 15's listed at £112 inc. VAT.

Doesn't anyone use Michelin Pilots - I've got them all round on my 500 and the back will need replacing in a few thousand miles - they seem like good tyres and would only want to get these again on the rear (not having different type front to back) - anyone know the best place in the London Area for these (or Swindon area) Cheers Jon

Don't use Toyo's on a TVR 15 or 16" wheel as they are V rated. This is really important - it will invalidate your insurance and is potentially dangerous.

Unless Toyo start making them in a Y or Z rating of course.

Its a pity - I had Toyos on my BMW M Roadster and found them to be pretty good. They were 17" wheels and a lot lower profile than on the TVR's.

Oops - got it wrong on the rears then!

17" wheels on the Griff? I know some people have done it, but there seems to be a consensus that it will detract from the handling quite badly.

Perhaps the answer is to keep a set of 18" wheels in the boot and slip them on the car every time I park (so it looks good). Then re-fit the 15/16" ers every time I drive off. Of course I'll have to do the same at the lights, junctions, Maccy Dee's drive thru....

Ted is that the fitted price on that site? and are they going to fit them during/after your next track day?
Just wondered, failing that I'll wait for the 'review'

Just had all 4 tyres changed on my Chimaera from S02's to SO3's.
£368.00 inclusive of fitting, valves and balancing at Brittania Tyres in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
I know they also have branches in Leicestershire and Bristol.
They did a great job, treating the wheels with the utmost care to avoid possible damage and doing each corner separately.

Just called Brittania for a quote for 4 So-3s (2x 245/45ZR16 and 2 x 225/50ZR15) and they quoted me £571.05!!!

I referred to Gimlet's recent purchase but they were quite unmoveable on price. Are the slightly larger tyres really that much more expensive?

Please could anyone offer any further recommendations for cheaper SO-3s in the North West or West Mids? (Shrewsbury Area)

So far ...
Demon Tweeks - £572.00
Brittania - £571.05

Sounds too steep VMAX, now one of the national chains offer to match prices so if you get a quote from one of the cheaper places darn sarth - they'll match it (call their national number). Then say you want the price honouring/the tyres fitting local to you.

I can't for the life of me remember who this chain is though ...

After reading this months EVO, i'm guna plump for Pirelis I think, not much cop in the wet, but dry performance was very good, seeing as I only use the car when dry. If your about to buy a set of tyres then this article was pretty in depth and informative (even I understood it
