Likewise; I'll drop a £100 in the pot for charity too if these boys turn up.

I can't afford a grand unfortunately - running a Funf means that the little baber at home goes without nappies every other week...hehe

Thats not very good is it. When you look at the Veyron link on the homepage it says from £499, but the cheapest price for the Veyron is £1,100. For a PAX ride too.

I don't know about you, but instead of paying £500 for a 'Muscle car' experience, I'd rather pay £400 for a flight to California and rent a Mustang GT for the weekend. Okay, a full day traveling is a lot but it would be worth it to me. smile

I'm still waiting for my day with VMAX Events also. Not hearing good things in the market place. I've been told that if anybody else like myself has paid and been messed around they should report it to the Police on the new non-emergency number 101. Apparently this guy is well known to them - 'nough said!

I think that's worth posting in full here.

It is with great regaret that we have decided to pull out of the trackday market in the UK. We have decided to take this action as a consequence of our termination of our contract with Groupon and some of the rather insane pricing that is available currently. We do not feel that the current market is viable in its current form and as a result we do not want to comprimise the service we wish to give. Therefore any customer with a valid outstanding voucher bought direct from ourselves will either be transfered to a suitable partner or will receive a full refund within 14 business days of 26 April 2012. For the current time vouchers bought through deal companies will remain valid and will be either transferred to a partner or refunded. We have emailed all customer that have been affected with details.

Should you have any queries please use the contact form below or email info@vmaxevents.com

We thank you for your custom over the past couple of years and we all appreciate your interest in our business.

I don't know about this specific example, but from media reports recently it seems Groupon has caused a lot of companies a good deal of harm; i.e. Groupon persuade companies to offer massive discounts ( i.e. unrealistic discounts ) and "promise" those companies will see an overall increase in business and, more, importantly, a lot of of repeat business. However, the reality is often very different, i.e. there is no repeat business and the companies concerned lose a lot of money.

I take your point but if you understand your business then you set parameters for the groupon scheme to work within. Focus on your quiet times, run the offer on weekdays or limit the amount of vouchers.

In this case, I dont see groupon did anything wrong, I only looked once and saw vmax events had sold 800 odd vouchers for driving experiences of £99 upwards.

You dont sell that many vouchers then hope for the best. Its simple economics.

I know of a number of people who didnt get their driving experience from day 1, they are still expecting one which I'd alledge will never happen.

This company despite their protestations on their closing webpage and offers to switch the voucher to affiliate companies, have consistently dissapointed and have gone under (alledgedly) offering a lot of people a LOT of money.

If you go onto the www.vmaxevents.com website, it mentions they are closing down, tells people where to get refunds. Although it tells people with Veyron experience vouchers they can be used at www.hardstop.eu

Must be a coincidence that both business have RG7 postcodes.

As their website says, "GO HARD, GO HOME is not just our moto it‘s the way we run our company ‚ it’s all or nothing". I doubt that those who end up with nothing will consider the advance warning given very much comfort.
