New years resolution is to visit more motoring events this year. OK its the same every year!

So booked for Prescott and Revival, so far .

Live in York and is this show on 23-26 Feb, worth a long trip down to London? And is it worth paying extra for the pre-view days? I would appreciate comments from those who have attended. stephen

I've been to both the previous of this new show.

It's not a huge show but 2nd year was bigger than first with a second hall opened up .

They do have the live avenue thing where some cars are driven up n down.

Being London,it's quite expensive for what you get.

Summing up,not sure it's worth coming all the way from Yorkshire for it.

Thanks for your comments .....we are really spoilt for choice here in the UK with so much happening this year it is something of a dilemma to know what to go to.

Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park is the same weekend. Not quite as far from York.

Sums it up nicely smile

What I made of it last time was that Excel is in the heart of the banking district of docklands, ALL the dealers there were after some of that Banking money! Not really a show for the average classic car enthusiast who enjoys a bit of autojumble too. Everything was very High end!

Brilliant event, quality cars, lots of people to chat to on the stands.

The central avenue is a great idea - The sound of an old F1 car blasting around inside a building is worth the entry price aloe.

With the Motorsport show added, plus parking onsite, and the Excel's food and drink this year is going to be a good one.

Can't wait.

Both London Classic Car Show and Race Retro have their own unique features. On Saturday and Sunday Race Retro has the live Rally Stage.
London Classic Car Show features the themed Grand Avenue. This Year the London Classic Car Show also incorporates Historic Motorsport International.

Hehe, no I don't work there.

I thought it was OK last time, although admittedly a lot of the food may have been 'beer-based' !!!! smile

I haven't been to Race Retro, so will give that a go too.

Cosplay show last year was quite revealing !!!!

Just had an email with a complimentary ticket to the historic motorsport / London classic car show. Is it worth the travel from Leicester? Probably end up getting the train from rugby and the tube / walk from the station if it's not too far

Yes, I had been to the first two and they were fairly small, this year there are another two halls and some autojumble bits and bobs smile The show is still quite new but its getting bigger year on year.

So, contrary to my earlier posts, I would say come down and make a day of it

Thanks, I'll be going on the Saturday if I do. If anyone's driving down and will pass leicester I'll throw them petrol money for a lift so I don't have to get the train aha!

I've not been to the London show yet, somehow I think it will be a bit too commercial. I always go to the NEC Classic Car show each year in November. How does the London one compare?
