GT6

I picked up my GT6 about 3 years ago and I haven't looked back. I think you would be quite hard pushed to get a prettier car that is fun to drive from the late sixties for the price. I have kept a log here if you want to see how much work they require to keep on the road:

Yeah that's a beauty, I really do want one, they are are looking too expensive at the moment, I don't think I'll get enough for my TVR... I have about £1500 plus what I get for my TVR, so there is a chance if a mini project comes up.

I love all the marks... I think 2 is my fave filled by 1 then 3, but I'd have any.
I did have a very good condition 67 MGBGT
Fitted a full new interior full magnolia leather.
But if I'm honest The GT6 has the Edge on that.

Hallo from Germany!

What a great topic about TVR´s and Gt6´s!!

I own a GT6 MK2 and also a Griffith 500!
the only thing I can say after all these years- I love them both in there own way!

The TVR is a driving beast which keeps you always watching the traffic and
the road conditions, and you´re always going to fast

the GT6 is a lovely and good handling little sport coupe, spec. with the rotoflex
rear suspension!
I´ve owned a Triumph TR250 several years ago and I can say I like the
2,0 Liter straight six much more- as it is the more sporty engine...

The power is much enough for this little car and I get attention every time,
I drive it!

Your a luck man Thomas, the Griff is my fave TVR and The GT6 my fave Triumph.
And yours are both beauties!

I imagine it's never a full weekend for you! Ha ha
Mind you if I had those cars I'd probably be divorced by now!

thanks a lot for your compliment about my baby´s.

Id took me almost 2 years to find a good GT6, as there are so many
bad ones on the market.
I was lucky to find mine in 2007 in Swizerland, with orig. 50.000 miles on the
clock...it´s a rare LHD MK2 GT6, orig.delivered to switzerland in 1970,
with a complete orig never welded body, only repainted sometimes in the late 80´s...

I don´t know,what´s your price range, but I wll definetly advice you to
better spend more money and buy a good one, as to buy a bad car and
spend much more money to get it restored....

There are some typical areas on a Gt6 to look at
(Chassis, body, spec. the frontscreen to roof section, etc.)
The technic for my opinion is no big deal, as it´s most the same as the
spitfire, herald ,etc.

Sometimes I´ve see some adverds for RHD Gt6 overhere in Germany,
if your are interested, I can send you the links, if you send me a private
message with your email adress...

RHD cars are not that pobluar overhere, and much harder to sell than a LHD car-
so you may be can make a good deal?!
The other side is, that the prices for good Gt6 are getting higher and much stronger the
last couple of years!!
...and if some one has a good car, he doesn´t want to sell it..

So if you need my help, just let me know...

Ideally I want something solid, that would need interior restoring,
And maybe a bit if bodywork,
I did a 67 MGBGT up, from an interior point of view, and some exterior.
I did it all myself so it meant I ended up with something work quite a bit more than I spent.
Yeah I would really appreciate it if you sent me a link to any RHD that come up over your way,
It may not be feasible but it would be interesting.
