Nice to see a Royal Blue mk2 GT6. I have one, had it since 1983, second car following on from a mk2 Vitesse. Now also own a mk1 Pi saloon (On HS6s) and a Spitfire mk2.

Know of the mk1 Vitesse you have just bought, was owned a couple of years ago by a chap called Les McGuffog who rallied it up north on Historic Rally Car register events.

Hi six cylinder I have spotted your GT at a few triumph events, looks to be a well sorted car. Will be taking mine out for a nice run to stoneleigh this weekend. The rear end shot of mine is a bit deceiving but it's actually of the black variety, resprayed a while back from its original Valencia blue. Have to admit dark colours suit the car best and blue would be my choice

I'll be at S'leigh. remember to immobilise the car, bet there will be a few light fingered types there. One or two cars have been stolen before at Stoneleigh.

I will be going up, intend to take the saloon. The GT6 is immobile at pres. as the gearbox is away being re-built.

I am the main organiser of the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run, the bi-annual event the CT organises. Objective: Drive 2,000 miles in 48 hours: Enfield to John O'Groats to Lands End and back to Enfield, all in aid of a UK Charity. This time we are supporting MacMillan Cancer Support. At present we have 108no entrants space for a few more, hint hint.

Will keep an eye out for your car, and will pop over to the CT stand if they are attending this year. I have read somewhere that they are putting on covered parking for Triumphs and MG's in attendance. I know exactly what you mean having been a victim to said light fingered a@@holes back in 2003 at a show in Sandown Park. I had just got a beautiful Old English White 4a back on the road after a 11 month rebuild, went in to the show, returned to the car to put a few purchases in the boot only to find it had disappeared. Never did see it again, it was LHD so is either living it up on the continent or in bits somewhere. Used the insurance payout to purcase the wedgewood blue one on the previous page.
