Hey there, I thought this would be as good a place as any to ask these questions.

I’ve got a 1500TC that I’ve owned for about 2 years now and I’m looking to upgrade it. I was going to swap the 1.5 with a 3.0 jaguar V6, just as it seemed like a good engine that I could get cheap. I’m now having second thoughts and I’m looking to see if I could simply make the 1.5 a more reliable and powerful beast. I was thinking I would start of small; just a rebuild with maybe a hotter cam and remote fuel pump and then maybe move onto more serious matters such as forged/billet pistons and maybe a low psi supercharger. And I’m just wondering if anyone knows of anyone who has given the spitfire 1.5 a full make over?

This project would be a long time in the making due to extent of work to the engine and shell and also due to the lack of funds at the moment.

But if anyone has any advice, I’m all ears

Max,
The 1500 engine isn't as useful as the earlier shorter stroke ones, as it is overstressed.
Those can be taken to 7K+ when in full race trim, and make 100bhp.

Thanks John, makes for an interesting read. I understand that it's not a good engine but it means I can keep the cars originality
