Hey folks, my dad just became the happy owner of this little V8, got it home yesterday and getting to grips with the bits and bobs of it. Attempted to put the roof down last night and would like a little help as I might be missing something as I could not get it to go. I pulled the back lever behind the seats that released the back catch and roof cover thing. Did the two front screen levers and that's it. The roof although looks like should fold slightly in the middle was going no where. Have a missed something or could the mechanism be solid and require some work.

Many thanks

Avril

Sounds like you did everything right. They can bind up really tightly, particularly if they have been unused for a while. Needs a close examination. Good luck.

Mine does this as the frame is a bit past it. Just need to reach under the roof and ensure the first horizontal support bar back from the front is able to pivot properly to allow the frame to fold. Lift it up a bit as you try to fold the roof and give it a "shoogle" to use a technical term.

Many thanks for you help folks. All bits and bobs greased up now, as it was indeed a bit seized, Dad and mate got it down in the end rather than me breaking it laugh

You have to lift the rear of the hood with a fold through the rear window when it is vertical it clips on to a small latch each side on the hood frame this will then fold into the back well. If those latches are missing do not fold it back as it will get stuck in the well and are difficult to get out again
