An excellent race from my point of view apart from letting the Morgan of Simon Orebi Gann past me without a fight thinking he was lapping me. It wasn't until I started to catch him again I realised he may have just caught me for position.
What went wrong with your car Jon?

Bloody head gasket - so much to do in the last month or so we never got round to the second cold tighten - did last round fine! - some that was just luck - should be fine for next one. Had the short diff in on saturday.
On the rollers for power check late last week - most have gone then. I was doing same times as when the car was almost std 4 year s back with a long diff!, and MGB's / Elva 's! pulling away from me on the straights.
I recon I could have beaten Mike H - Oh well Silverstone next for me - not doing Oulton. Should all be fine and fully tested for that.

Jon, Whats happened to Joe Henderson this year? I've not seen him out at all. Cheers Steve
Was at Zandvoort a few months back - one a few races before they found cracked block and stopped before any serious damaged - rebuilt all in new block and back out. Was at last TSCC meet at Silverstone International - but spun off as did alot before it was stopped after 4 bloody laps!I'm back there on the 4th Aug - hopefully Joe will be too.
Ya not bad - fast but still getting bugs out of it. Brakes spot on now. Had a few gearbox issues, stripped reverse and another cog - another rebuild dropped mine in for the first race, then that leaked at the next brands (that was an easy fix but a swap out again) - though we hand a rear oil seald go so pulled box and engine! Did both and a head gasket (all settled down now). Have changed final drive so same as Mike H and most others (4.1) - (have a feeling Joe runs a 4.3 - which is just nuts - kill top end - but then do not get that high in top at very many places and his car is heavy so maybe needs it). Did have a 3.9. We are getting a full custom loom for it built before next race (as the std on is a joke - on all TR's!). Plus it is now going on a diet. Screen is off, (22kg! and huge wind break), window glass and a platsic passengers door and no hood and alloy hubs, should get us down 50 - 60kg.
Amazing the amount you have to do to make these things really go!

Cool, not sold the 4 yet then? Hopefully I'll get along to one of the meets this year to see the quickest TRs around going! Imagine Joes engine in the lightest 6...I guess it's a strong car though. Is he on Webers? Your right they do need a lot of work but boy they can go! Yours should be good with that diet!
I stuck the 4 up for sale - but then very soon after had a change of heart and decided one last year would be good (so in between building the 6 we are doing a full rebuild of the 4's engine, lighter rods, new pistons, new liners, special crank balancer, should be done in next few months) - then a few of the shorter tracks next year then put it up for sale - pity but....... Need to win the lotto then I'd never sell it!
