That really isn't a very clever idea.
I have always fitted snow tyres to the front only of my Van and I can say that I am still alive today to tell the tale.
Despite driving many miles on both motorway and B roads the van has never tried to kill me and the drive is no different to driving with normal tyres.

So how does that video show that putting 2 winter tyres on the back is dangerous? As they didn't show what would happen if the car had 4 summer tyres on then it would suggest that putting 2 winter tyres on the rear axis (on a front wheel drive car) is actually better than not.

(I know it an old link but it comes up high on a google search)

The video suggests it's pointless, you don't gain any real benefit from snow tyres on the rear axle only.

Going to go out on a limb now and suggest that a tyre manufacturer has made it look like you need to buy more tyres from them.

I haven't seen a road covered in that much snow since 2010.

And I travel around the north of this Island quite a lot.

Even then they didn't put cones out to make you slalom down it.
