DIY braided brake lines ?

So what advantage is there in having flexible lines throughout, rather than just where they are needed?
I think some people just have a braided hose fetish. And as mentioned, easier just to route a single flexible from start to finish than it is start bending and shaping metal pipes. Plus potentially fewer joints.Well I can see a measurable change in volume consumption if I used a long piece of braided hose instead of a solid line with a short braided section when performing a caliper stiffness test. You wouldn't catch me using yards of the stuff to plumb my brakes in, I'd expect a spongy pedal.
