When it comes to polybushes my personal view is they are fine in an applicating where the bush only needs to work in one plain IE on wishboes that only move up and down, they will usually transmit more NVH but that is due to thier harness, you can get softer polys if that is an issue but then by the time you go soft enough to match rubber you may as well fit rubber bushes, in an applictaion where the bush needs to twist or move in multiple plains i prefer rubber to avoid suspension binding IE trailing arms set at differant angles to the other trailing arms say on a solid rear axle or early disco rear lower trailing arms where they need to deform on suspension drop and rise.
TBH i think tightening or freeing off the susspension pivot points with new bushes may well have accentuated other issues like with the shocks or it could well just be as you say, leaving them hanging has finished off the valving inside frown

I know this is old post but need to know where i can get poly bushes for the rear and front of my x type. The front lower arms dont seem to have any poly bushes on the market.

Cheers

Some pattern bushes are truly awful the only brand I have come to trust is superpro, or whiteline , avoid anything else like the plague imo

What about superpro? Need to de-grandad my x type. Have a side pipe exhaust sitting in the boot. Just need to lower it and possible fit wheel spacers.

Which Polybushes are they?

Some are wrong for the application. I'd only use SuperFlex/Pro these days ; they're the only ones I've seen deliver a better ride quality in some instances.

You get what you pay for essentially.
