hi, I bought a used car and after a few days it was in the garage with numerous problems. after leaving the car with the garage for a few days, i went back today (a week later) after not hearing anything from them.i wanted to find out what was going on and was told the abs pump had been sent away and wasn't repairable and needs replacing, but he is struggling to find one. I don't understand cars or know anything about them. can someone please tell me what it means if they cant get hold of one. I have owned the car for 2 weeks and drove it for less than a week its been in and out of garage rest of the time.

I am hoping im going to be able to get my money back if they cant replace the abs

help please

Also, is the car with the seller, or another garage, is there any warranty, you need to give us some more info to be able to advise/help you.

sorry for limited info.
I bought the car from a car dealer, it is a Peugeot 308 on a 08 plate with 46000 miles. they gave me one month warranty. when I took the car back to the car dealer they sent me to a garage that does all there work for them.
the abs warning light kept coming on along with oil pressure warning, very loud fan and car misfiring.

Sounds like you bought a "pup" I would be asking for a full refund & going elsewhere at a very high speed.

Sound advice.

And dont let the dealer fob you off, clearly it was sold unfit for purpose, and all that trading standards guff.

And I suspect legally he needs to stand over more than one month, especially for something as major as that

I went to the dealer yesterday and asked for full refund they refused, I have given them until Friday to give me a refund or a different car to the same value or I will be taking the matter further.
