Hi all, just some quick advise on toe settings if possible?

I had the camber and toe adjust on my EP3 last week, after reading lots online I went for -1degree camber all round and had the front toe at 0.

The car handles really well, feels great though the bends and generally really well. The only downside is that in the dual carriageway the car feels quite twitchy, in that I have to keep adjusting the wheel to keep the car straight. It's quite annoying.

I'm wondering if by putting a small amount of toe in on the front I will cure this without detriment to the rest of the handling.

I don't profess to be an expert, always happy to be taught and open to suggestions.
Cheers

Car is a 2002 Civic Type R EP3 With hardrace camber arms on the rear and camber bolts on the front.

Yes put about .5 degree on the front. You can do it yourself with string and carful measuring will work out as about 1mm measuring the front and back of the rim against parallel.

You will find that with 0 toe the car actually toes out at speed due to the steering arms lengthening as the wheel is pushed back by resistance loads. Assuming the steering rack is behind the steering pick up on the wheel.

Cool thanks.

I have a new set of tyres going on this week so will get a small amount added each side to see how it feels.

Butterface, did the 0.5 deg toe in at the front cure your nervousness straight ahead? Or have you found a better set up?
I'm going in to have the alignment checked on my bog standard 2005 EP3 Type R. I'm trying to keep it original as a long term modern classic, but if the factory camber settings are really far out I'll have to consider fitting front camber bolts or rear camber kit.

Hi Dave

Yes it took away that skittish feeling on straight roads. I haven't changed the setup since and it's been great, balance seems great.

I do need some better tyres, Toyo Proxes are just 'ok' in the wet!

Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm on my way there now and I'll give it a go.
