Hello

I have a ever so exotic Sandero Stepway as a daily driver and it has gone through its first set of front pads in about 13K, I would say there is about 25% left if that. Does that seem extreme? Maybe the stock pads are soft I don't know. As far as I am aware the brakes on these are off a clio.

First question is am I ok to do them myself? and second question is do they have to be genuine parts? Will either of these effect warranty as they are consumables, I would think not?

The reason I ask is the genuine pads haven't lasted very long and are about 2 x the price of a decent OEM ( and I am tight).

Thanks in advance.

This covers the basic rules I think.

TL:DR
Any garage/competent mechanic can do it. But the parts must be manufacturer approved or they might walk away from any issues they perceive to have been caused by the parts.
