It's so I can replace the front arms on a Merc.

It's a one off job so I don't want to send loads, but I do want to be safe.

Thanks.

Is there supposed to be a picture or link to one in your post?

I've had a look. I can't see how you could get it fitted the coils look too close to get the claws in so I'm guessing no. Vans only for that type.

These are less than half the price & work reliably, I have used them for quite some time.

Thanks Andy.

I think these are the recommended solution for the SL R129.

Whilst they might be the correct "special tool" for the job, any spring compressor will compress a spring & the ones I showed have never had an issue with many springs over the years.

While I'm all for saving a bit of money, in this instance I'm going to use the internal spring compressor.

a) Clearance
b) Springs hurt

I'll try to borrow one 1st though. wink

My first thought. I haven't found anyone that does them though. frown

I've posted on a couple of MB sites to see if anyone local will lend me one in exchange for some beer vouchers. smile

If not I'll

a) Bite the bullet and buy one
b) Get a garage to do the work

I've had another look @ the job I don't think an external one will clear the control arm.
