Buy or make a new hose section from the previous join up to the caliper

Isn't it a flexi hose at the caliper? Usually there's a join up at the top of the wheel arch so you might be able to just order a new flexi/final length and swap it out. Take great care to soak it all in penetrating oil and to turn the nut without twisting the hose as otherwise you'll just repeat the problem further up, and it will be a ball-ache getting a flaring tool in there (ask me how I know).

If not then just cut off the broken section a few inches further up, get a new length of hose and flare it yourself, making sure you flare everything the proper way round in terms of male and female.
