SO just come home complaining of a smelly car. Quick look under the bonnet and it looks like the pipe from the fuel filter to the injector rail has failed. It looks easy enough to replace but I'm paranoid about priming the system - would I need to do that for this pipe as it's after the pump/filter? Don't have a VCDS.

13 reg 1.2tdi Polo.

Thanks

I've never had to prime one of those 3 cylinder diesels yet, even after changing the fuel filter.

Just to be on the safe side when you first start it up hold the throttle slighty to about 2500rpm for about 10 seconds before slowly letting off

Thanks. Probably shouldn't have been surprised but the part is going to cost £62 :-(

Should fit it tomorrow.

I would just replace it or a section of it with generic fuel pipe. Get it at any decent motor factors
