Morning

I assume this is the right forum - if not mods please move.

My 2 year old Indesit dishwasher is playing up. The main circulation pump (that spins the arms round) is doing nothing.

The machine fills, empties and heats normally. It's not throwing up any error codes for a faulty pump. I've opened it's hatch up underneath, and all the plugs are in place, and wiring looks sound.

I have a multimeter, but I don't really know how to start fault finding on this. If it was a car, I'd get the wiring diagram and look for power, continuity etc.

I would welcome any ideas?

Note: a cheap replacement is £220, a mid level Bosch about £390, a new recirc pump on amazon is £75 and a repair man likely to be £60 + VAT + parts. I would rather cut my losses and replace than throw money into speculative repairs, but woudl prefer to do some fault finding first.

thanks

Ian

Random - could be wrong, but hey!

I have removed a lemon seed from the inner workings of a pump in a washing machine, too far into the pump to be seen without stripping the pump first.

Afternoon

Ok, it's only 2 clips to get the pump / motor out, and it unscrews in half.

Its a brushless motor (Askoll M312) and the magnets on the shaft has become unstuck. I'll upload a pic in a bit.

I'll try and source a new motor then, as the machine is performing well otherwise.
