Rusted discs mot pass or fail?
Discussion
No idea they've looked like that since I bought the car in December. Perhaps it's been laying about for a while before I bought it and maybe the calipers aren't working properly therefore not a lot of pressure is being used in the rears?
I don't know a great deal about cars however i've had 8 in total over 12 years which includes 3 sciroccos and I've never seen my discs looking like that !
I'm hoping if I get them replaced they give the same effectiveness of the scirocco because right now I feel like the GTD brakes are st in comparison! Perhaps someone with a GTD could comment on how good they feel their brakes are?

Bear in mind the brakes are designed to stop the car carrying 5 people and some luggage from pretty high speeds so just driving around on your own they should feel st-hot.
Everything looks very rusty for a 3yr old car - did it come from somewhere near the sea? It could be the pads and sliders etc are pretty stuck so you'll get a very dead feeing brake pedal. The rust rubs away the pad and stops it pressing on that part of the disc - hence once the rust sets in you'll never clean it off and it spreads across the disc - so you're using less and less of the disc. And like I said in a previous post, likely they're worse on the inside faces.
Skimming discs used to be popular but seems to have fallen out of favour now. Anyway once that's done you should really fit new pads so garages say might as well just change the discs too. I used to strip and clean brakes when I serviced my own cars but garages won't do it now. Even the indie I use said it wasn't worth it.
