Driving on a flat tyre... Can I do it?
Discussion
Thanks all.
I got home around 0800 and managed to get 6 hours sleep before my next shift.
The girlfriend ordered me a new tyre, which I'll have fitted on Monday, my next day off.
Luckily I have other cars to use!
But, lesson learned. I'll be ordering a space save and a set of jacks.
Undecided on whether I'll risk driving the car down to the tyre place. Given its only half a mile I reckon I'll be safe but also question whether it's worth risking it.

The pressure came out pretty quickly. I've driven mayne a quarter of a mile with under 10psi, from 50mph down to a crawling speed for the last 50-100m.
I should be ok, I hope.
Whenever I’ve had punctures repaired I’ve been asked if I’ve driven on it. Most of the time I have for a bit (to get to somewhere safe to stop) and so far not had to bin the tyre as a result. Used to be much easier in the “old” days when you could put the spare/space saver on!I should be ok, I hope.
