Windscreen washer stalk

This is a bit of an odd one.

Yesterday I went to pull my windscreen washer stalk towards me like a normally do, no extra force, just wanted some water on the screen. Then the next thing I know the stalk is all lose and wobbling about a bit in the socket. All of the functions like the windscreen wipers work but not the washer.

Any idea how easy this is to fix? Or will the whole steering column have to come off.
