What's the nano coating for pro use which you are using? Sounds like I good idea. I don't mind having to do something properly once if it does not have to be repeated over and over again.

What's your recommended method... assuming I'm starting with a car which was waxed but has been out in the rain / driven / not massivly dirty but needs a clean?

gtechniq C1. forgot to add it has MUCH better UV absorption than any wax....so prevents fading of paint over time.

for something quick and easy with better-than-wax protection i'd recommend their C2. easier than a wax to use and lasts just a long, with better UV block, better at keeping clean etc. no scratch resistance though.

once it's got something on it, if it just needs a clean using a pH neutral shampoo is more than enough for most washes. smile

but if applying something like C1 it NEEDS to go onto bare paint, any waxes etc MUST be stripped off first otherwise it won't bond properly. i suspect you'll be far better off getting their C2, it's much, much simpler and is available for joe bloggs to buy. it's not as good as C1 by any means, but it's much better than anything you'll find in halfords by a long way.

I tried something today called Demon Shine which I bought from Halfords. Cheap as chips but I have to say it's dead easy to use and gives a... demon shine. You wipe it on, leave it, and it shines. I'll try and post up some pics tomorrow.

I'll also throw this into the pot : Rejex. Shine lasts for ages but doesn't give that slippery wet coating that cars from dealers seem to have. Still haven't found that.

I wouldn't bother posting photos. They can't show how shiney a car is. All the pics above show cars which look very clean anyway.

I'm not afraid of a bit of hard work, willing to put in the effort to do the proper C1 coating.

Anyone have a link to buy the C1 stuff. It says it's for professional use only. Can the public not buy this?

Apparently not. I can imagine from what I've read that if you apply it incorrectly it could end up as the most almighty f-up. Luckily I am a professional so just waiting for a response from the company now. I hope they don't think I want to order 20 cases without trying a bit first!

Try cleanyourcar.co.uk

It's a doddle to apply in reality, pro use only purely because if you don't read the instructions and leave it on bare paint for too long, the C1 will crystallise and you'll have to polish it off.

If you want something more simple I can recommend the carlack 68 pair, which I have plenty spare if you're interested wink

If you phone gtechniq ask to speak to rob and tell them Ross with the E38 sent you. May just give you a little discount if you're very lucky
