Hey guys,

I have some free time coming up and want to pamper my Ferrari a bit. The plasticy headlamp covers are a bit scratched and so is the glass windsscreen. I would like to polish out these scratches.

What do you guys recommend for a DIY approach for both of these materials (glass and plastic headlight cover)? I do have a polishing machine, but it's still unused in it's box so not terribly experienced with any of this. Ideally I'd like to use something where I can't mess anything up (ie potential to cause more harm than benefit!)

Cheers

Using a polisher would be the best shout, with some good 3M compoud or another brand.

Either way, when polishign the headlights covers because could potentially cause deforming of the plastic if it gets too hot? I've never seen this but I reckon it could happen. The glass would be fine to polish so spend a bit of time on it and make it look amazing! Good Luck!

Try Meguiars Plast rx firstly by hand. Use a microfibre applicator to give the polish a touch of bite. If desired results arent achieved then machine route would be next port of call. You can get stunning transformations on heavily tarnished lights with varied grades of wet sanding and polishing. The final jewel leaves an almost crystal like finish. Good luck.
