Mould on inside of vinyl soft top
Discussion
Not driven the MX-5 much over the winter and it has got damp - the inside of the roof has got some mould on it.
What's the best way to remove? Thinking hot soapy water and a sponge, but I am going to get very wet doing it as will the car interior and I don't want to make it worse by not drying out properly!
Any ideas!?

Avoid powerful detergents these can affect the elasticity of the Hood. Megulars do a Hood Restorer spray. Very effective.
I own some ten cars including classics, sports cars and daily drivers. Some permanently VOR awaiting refurb.
I learnt from experience years ago that putting a dehumidifier crystal pack in the body of the cars and another in the boot stops such difficulties.
Softops, which tend to sweat in the sun/shade/rain are worst at this and it is worth trying two packs one on each side.
Cost about £1 each at the pound shops. Last for months unless there is a real leak in the car.
These work. Much better than cleaning after the problem is there.

I would have thought the cost would be exactly £1 each at the pound shops.Squiggs said:
