Bird Dropping Stain Removal Advice

Guys, any advice would be appreciated on how to remove stains on metallic black paintwork left by bird droppings.

Basically, noticed a couple of fair sized deposits on the bonnet which I washed off immediately but they have left stains which are visible when viewed at the right angle under certain light conditions

I have tried polishing out with Zymol cleaner wax without much improvement. I then tried some T-Cut and also Meguirs Scratch Revover which seems to remove most minor blemishes but did not make much impression on the stains despite some heavy elbow grease using a pad.

The paint is not pitted at all and feels very smooth and the stains look a little like an oil sheen on a wet road.

Any other chemical or compound I can safely apply by hand which would make an improvement or do I need a decent DA polisher or professional detailer.

When I was working at BMW they used to use boiling hot water out of a kettle. This sounds dangerous, make sure you wear decent gloves and have towel or tissues at hand in case of any accident, the hot water wont damage or mark your paintwork. I found that it sort of 'marrs' the lacquer and 9/10 always worked for me. Please dont blame me if it doesn't work, but if I had a similar defect in my paintwork, I would use this technique.

The marks you describe are bird etchings - these have etched the lacquer (despite not being able to feel them) and therefore will need removing via machine polishing and possibly wet sanding.

In some cases it is not possible to fully remove such marks, but 9/10 times they'll polish out fine.

Thanks for both suggestions guys. Afraid I didn't have the bottle to pour boiling water on my paintwork, sorry James, I am sure it would be fine but I was just too cautious to give it a go. If the same thing happen's to the shed, I will try it on that. I don't have a machine polisher, I am looking at which one would be best and will invest in one soon. I did, however, use some Autoglym SRP which actually worked pretty well. It took out about 80% of the stain. When I get the polisher and after some practice on the wife's car I will attempt the remaining 20% so I am happy for now.
