Hi,can somebody tell me if its possible to do anything with starcrscks in fibreglass as i have one on the top of my bonnet on tvr.i adopted it with the car a few months ago.when i run my finger over it i can feel it has broken the paint and laquer.is there anything i can do with it.should i try to seal cracks with more laquer to stop it lifting?will it develpoe further?any help gratefully accepted. dave

No reason why you dont have a play about with it dabbing in some lacquer to the cracks and then flatting and polishing when dry, as its gonna need DA'd and probably skimmed again to repair it properly.

The 'proper' way is to cut it *all* the way back, fill with resin, fill with gelcoat, prime and paint...

No matter what you do otherwise they will come back.

To repair properly you need to grind out beyond the end of the cracks the affected area then resin and glass tissue the surface and build up to the original level flitting each time.you can put a smear of filler to finish but I prefer to stick with resin and tissue. You will need to spray the whole panel so unless it is really bad I would leave it alone.
